Thanks for visiting! Today's viewing audiences know Johnny Gilbert as the voice of TV's most popular and successful quiz show, "Jeopardy!" He has been the show's announcer since its debut in 1984. But prior to that, Johnny was the announcer for literally thousands of episodes of game shows through the years such as "The $25,000 Pyramid," "The Joker's Wild," "Tic Tac Dough," "Anything for Money," "Every Second Counts," "The Price is Right," and countless others. In addition, Johnny himself has hosted many game shows including "Music Bingo," "Beat the Odds," and "Fast Draw," and has substitute-hosted on such classics as "Camouflage" and the original "Price is Right."

Johnny was Dinah Shore's announcer on her popular syndicated daily talk show throughout the 1970s and 1980s, and he still maintains a special place in his heart today for the talented lady. In addition, Johnny was the host of his own daily talk/variety show in Dayton, Ohio in the 1960s. When he decided to pack up and move to New York, the local station was forced to give his time slot to an up and coming new unknown personality at the time named...Phil Donahue!

Few people know that Johnny began his professional career as a nightclub singer and was originally trained by an opera teacher. He made quite a name for himself as a singer/emcee working in clubs, which eventually led him into the successful television career he has enjoyed for nearly fifty years! His talent for singing joined with his TV career in the early 1960s when his popularity soared and he recorded two phonograph albums.
